Jawset has been offering Postshot, an intuitive and robust platform for neural radiance fields and 3D Gaussian splatting, since the end of 2023. Postshot makes it possible to create photorealistic scenes based on image material in a short time. The Gaussian Splats or Radiance Fields generated in this way can be used for visualizations in UnrealEngine, for example. The software has quickly become the leading platform in this area. Postshot’s approach ensures that all data is processed locally, guaranteeing the security of the data as it never leaves the computer.
Postshot also allows you to import an existing alignment from RealityCapture. This increases the quality of the generated splats and makes it possible to create metrically scaled scenes without much computational effort! The creations can be rendered in Postshot itself or in UnrealEngine 5 (with the corresponding plugin) or Adobe After Effects. You can also export the scenes and import them (metrically scaled if required) into UnrealEngine5.
Postshot can be downloaded free of charge from Jawset.com and is currently only available for Windows. A list of the different versions can be found here. A user guide is also available.
We offer individual or group training courses for RealityCapture at your premises or at our premises in Aachen, tailored to your needs. Of course, you can also complete the training online. Prerequisites for participation are your own workstation or laptop and an installation of RealityCapture, Postshot and UnrealEngine.
Training Agenda RealityCapture & Postshot
- Data acquisition techniques for Postshot (UAV, DSLR/DSLM)
- RealityCapture GUI
- RealityCapture Workflow
- General settings & menus
- Data Import
- Alignment process in RealityCapture
- Export alignment for Postshot
- Postshot GUI & Tools
- Data import & settings
- Calculate & clean splat
- Renderings in Postshot

Required for participation in a training course:
- Computer/laptop with current RealityCapture, Postshot and UnrealEngine 5
- min. 32 GB RAM
- 64bit Microsoft Windows 10 or 11
- NVIDIA graphics card with CUDA 3.0+ capabilities and min. 6GB VRAM
- CUDA Toolkit 10.2, minimum driver version 441.22.
We recommend using a computer with at least 6 CPU cores, 32 GB RAM and 6GB VRAM. If you do not have an NVIDIA card, you can run RealityCapture and register images, but you cannot create textured meshes.
